Chesapeake Bay PreFab
Beginning as a full renovation of an existing house, he project evolved into projecting the house as a brand new PreFab structure that the owner could benefit from its construction speed and lower costs while being more resistant to hurricanes. The design followed PreFab construction guidelines and combined some post-built custom finishes and details. The entry to the house is a welcoming two story atrium with stairs leading to the second level bedrooms. This atrium at the center of the structure is where all the PreFab unit boxes joined together. The volumes of the house are a composition of white cubes finished with different textures and angles which create a dynamic light and shadow effect. Additionally ,the project included a guest house with a two-car and boat garage on the first floor, and a guest suite on the second floor. The property opened onto a courtyard surrounded by a privacy fence, semi-hard floor surfaces and outdoor terraces which lead to the boat slip at the bay level.
