Fort Lauderdale Hotel
The design-build for this new 29 story, 800 room convention center hotel with 73,000SF of meeting and ballroom space, multiple F&B venues including a signature rooftop bar, an 11,000SF destination spa, and over 30,000SF of pool decks demanded continuous coordination between the general contractor and the several other design teams involved in the project. As the interior designers for the entire hotel we had the opportunity to propose a compelling concept narrative inspired in Florida’s landscape and native fauna, which translated into innovative design ideas that elevated the brand’s standards and experience. Our interventions improved and integrated all venues for a more fluid and seamless experience to be carried as well from indoor to outdoor spaces. Each venue provides a unique tailored concept design that stems from the initial narrative, aiming to diversify the hotel experiences therefore offering increased chances for revenues.
As the Lead Interior Architectural Designer and Project Manager, my role focused first on proposing, planning and designing interior spaces and their hierarchies that would embody the design narrative with creative design solutions. Simultaneously, I continuously coordinated with our Interior’s team and with all other external design consultants for the project, closely working with the Building Design Architect, Architect of Record, GC and engineers to assure our design intent was met and driving design decisions for all team members.
