I was approached to design a unique deck for the rear of a historic DC townhouse. It had to be designed so the entire deck was manufactured in a factory, brought in parts and assembled on site. Attention was given to minimize materials waste and site disruption to this townhouse which has no rear alley access and tight interior circulation spaces. Stainless steel was selected due to its maintenance free benefits. I also specified a perforated grid deck that allows plenty of light to the basement level and is easy to clean.
